Early Response Team training slated
for Aug. 11 at Grace UMC

United Methodist Committee on Relief Early Response Team training is to be offered Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Grace UMC, 11222 Leopard St., Corpus Christi.
Trainers include Jim Calloway and Jack Radde.
Cost is $30 per person. The fee includes lunch, a Southwest Texas Conference ERT T-shirt, a photo identification badge and a training resource manual.
The team training is designed to orient people to the special needs and situations common after most natural disasters. In the first few days, and sometimes weeks, following a major storm, only teams that are
trained and self-contained are useful.
Training will cover the purpose of an ERT, team-member responsibilities, how to equip a team, how to prevent further damage to property after a storm (the four basic jobs) and more.
