Congregations need to confirm transformation meeting dates
All congregations participating in the Church Transformation Process with Dr. Don Nations are to choose from the following Church Transformation training dates:
2007: Sept. 4-8, Oct. 2-6
2008: Feb. 19-23, April 7-11, Oct. 7-11
Please research these dates on your church calendars right away.
Three or four days of each week are to be spent in various locations in the district with cluster groups for pastors and transformation leaders from each church. The laity event is to be on Saturday.

Basic, advanced lay speaking sessions planned for Sept. 7-8
Basic and Advanced Lay Speakers Courses are scheduled for Sept. 7 and 8 at First UMC, Portland.

District UM Women schedule rummage sale for Aug. 18
Corpus Christi District UM Women plan a rummage sale for Aug. 18 from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Scout Hut at St. John’s UMC, Corpus Christi. Donations will be accepted beginning Aug. 13. Proceeds will benefit missions.

Nov. 16-17 stewardship event to feature the Rev. David Bell
A stewardship event led by the Rev. David Bell, director of the Center for Christian Stewardship at the General Board of Discipleship, Nashville, Tenn., is scheduled for Nov. 16 and 17 at First UMC, Corpus Christi.
The event is sponsored by the Corpus Christi District Leadership Development Team.
